Jr. Victorias Mourn the Passing of Carter “Rush” Wilson

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

As many of you know, we lost a valued member of the Junior Vic’s family in the off-season – Carter “Rush” Willson.

On May 30, just 9 days before his 19th birthday, Carter received the devastating news that he had a lesion on his brain stem. A biopsy revealed that he had an aggressive, non-operable cancer. Despite a brave battle that included thirty rounds of radiation therapy, Carter passed on August 28.

While last year was Carter’s only season with the Junior Vic’s, he will be remembered as a great teammate. There wasn’t a single guy “in the room” that didn’t like him – he got along with everyone. He was quiet but hilarious! And for a young junior hockey player, it was clear that he was a leader.

We also acknowledge that Carter’s passion for hockey extended beyond the Junior Vics. He was also a dedicated and enthusiastic coach of the U13 AA Bruins Brown team last season. The Bruins posted, “Carter’s commitment to the game and to the players he mentored will never be forgotten.”

Carter gave back because he cared.

To pay tribute to Carter’s memory, all the 2025-26 Junior Vics will proudly wear a “RUSH STRONG” decal on their helmets, and no one will wear his #17 jersey this year.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Carter, you will always be a part of the Vic’s family – we miss you deeply as a dear friend and as an awesome teammate.
